Recently, the PROMOTECH PRO-40 PBS, our large-diameter stationary bevelling machine, has been delivered to one of our key clients – a company specializing in the production of large-scale welded structures, including industrial tanks, silos, storage vessels, piping systems, and fully customized solutions. The PRO-40 PBS has played a key role in boosting their productivity.
The client was seeking a robust, cost-effective solution for precise edge preparation of thick-walled stainless steel and carbon steel pipes prior to welding. PRO-40 PBS met their requirements perfectly, offering massive upgrade from manual grinding and portable tools.
PRO-40 PBS stationary bevelling machine is designed for precise bevelling and facing pipes, tanks, and tubes with diameters ranging from 200 mm (8″) to 1000 mm (40″). Adjustable chain (ø 200–1000 mm) ensures stable axial rotation during operation.
Equipped with a high-speed rotary milling head featuring replaceable inserts, the machine delivers efficient and accurate machining, achieving bevel widths of up to 45 mm (1-3/4″) across an adjustable angle range from 0° to 60°. Cold bevelling by milling ensures no heat-affected zones or distortion.
With optional accessories, the PRO-40 PBS beveller can also perform internal bevels up to 20 mm wide and prepare J-grooves with R6 or R8 radii.
For heavy-duty applications, the use of optional steel support rollers increases the machine’s load capacity to 5000 kg (11,000 lbs) per support.
