Whether working on pipes, in confined spaces, or reverse positions, Mirror Switch ensures a smoother, safer, and more intuitive welding experience.
The Mirror Switch function ensures a more intuitive operation of the oscillation unit whenever the welder changes position relative to the carriage’s travel direction. This feature is particularly useful when repositioning the tractor is not an option, during orbital welding in a horizontal position or longitudinal welding.
As the welder moves from behind the carriage to the front, the direction of the torch position adjustment is reversed. Adjusting oscillation offset to the right requires turning the knob to the left and becomes counterintuitive. This often leads to mistakes, confusing left and right, and consequently – workflow interruptions.
RAIL TITAN 2 with Mirror Switch for intuitive welding control
Implementing Mirror Switch function to RAIL TITAN 2 solves this issue, ensuring that oscillation adjustments remain intuitive, regardless of the welder’s position. Using this function operator adjusts the torch position to the left or right regardless of his / her position relative to the torch. Turning the F1 knob on the pendant to the right always moves the torch in the expected direction—even when RAIL TITAN 2 tractor is positioned in reverse.
In normal mode, turning the F1 knob to the right moves the torch to the right. However, when the Mirror Switch function is activated, the movement is reversed—turning the knob to the right shifts the oscillation unit to the left. This change is visually indicated on the pendant by a colour change in the icon.
With the Mirror Switch, operators can make precise adjustments to welding parameters or the tractor’s path without pausing the process. Eliminating directional confusion ensures a smooth, uninterrupted workflow, minimizes downtime, and enhances overall productivity and efficiency.
