Note: According to ISO 513, cutting inserts are classified based on the workpiece material they are intended to machine:

  • P – for steel (non-alloy, low-alloy and high-alloy steels), including most carbon and structural steels
  • M – for stainless steels
  • N – for non-ferrous materials such as aluminium and copper alloys
